Large format and the wall

When the canvas goes beyond two metres, you stop 'looking' and start walking it. The painting becomes a territory.

Fine detail loses priority. What matters is mass, the rhythm of areas, how light crosses the whole plane.

In exhibitions, that format asks for a clean wall and distance. Without air around it, colour chokes.
