Work in progress

I am working on a series that I would like to be more than ten canvases, in which to work the texture of the fabric from another point. For me it will be a small investigation because I will not be based on theories but on trial and error itself. The canvas fabric I use is 100% cotton with a white primer layer on the side I paint on.

Being working on canvas, and not on another support, leads me to want to play with the vapor and texture of the fabric. With those sets of gradients and wrinkles that can be seen on the fabric, I think some of that lightness is already transmitted. On the other hand, the choice of colors, beyond the fact that I liked them aesthetically, began to calm me when I saw them dry.

After having spent some time working on a series of classic statues on dark backgrounds, whose first results can already be seen on this website, it was very interesting - and quite strenuous - the contrast of people's white on black backgrounds, in addition to the meticulous work of the most figurative forms. Something that I ended up liking the most in these paintings was the black backgrounds with that vaporous texture I was talking about before. From to

so I wanted to focus that work on this new series, which by contrast, gives me calm starting from those warm, bright or pastel colors on the white background of the primer.

It will be a large format series - two of them are already two meters by one hundred and forty-five centimeters - and I really do not know yet what the final result will be or how I will execute all the steps of this small investigation. With daring to publish some of the photos of how they look, even though I do not consider them finished, I play to take a little shame out of exposing something intimate before I even know if what will be seen next will be how

I think there is something zen that transmits tranquility and reduces cortisol in those who look at them, and that is already working. Time will tell if when the concluded ones continue to provoke that mood in me
